In the news this morning, police are looking for three suspects who they say committed at least seven armed robberies in less than two hours in South Philadelphia on Tuesday night.

The robberies took place between 1030 and midnight. The victims were all walking or standing on the street when they were robbed.

Police say the robberies occurred at the 1700 block of Johnson Street, 2,900 block of South 7th Street, 600 block of Tasker Street at the intersection

of 9th in Oregon, another one at 8th in Oregon, and then again at the 1100 block of Tasker Street.

The three males were wearing all black clothing with bandanas covering their face and armed

with guns. At least one victim was pistol whipped.

Yeah, there are surveillance cameras near some of the robbery locations, but so far no footage has been released.

Police say the vehicle the robbers used was carjacked on Saturday night from the 1100 block of Front Street.

Officers on patrol located the carjack Nissan Rogue early Wednesday morning in a lot on Front Street under 95 in Pensport.

Investigators say there were items in the vehicle,

including a stolen backpack and wallet that fit the description of some of the items. The Nissan

was towed to a police garage. Philadelphia homicide detectives are also investigating after a 59-year-old

man was found dead inside his Fox Chase home. Neighbors called police at 3 a.m. Tuesday after hearing

someone in distress inside the home in the 8,400 block of Algon Avenue. Police found the victim who friends identified as Al Chernoff partially tied to a bed with massive head wound and slashes to his chest. So police haven't confirmed his identity, but friends are saying it was him. Turnoff was an army veteran and an employee at the Philadelphia International Airport.

He also founded Alley Cats, an animal rescue group.

Animal lovers and rescues in and around Philadelphia are devastated over the loss of a man, they say, stood out because of his willingness to help others.
