Good morning in the news this morning.

A man from Bayer, Delaware is among the six people facing federal charges for an alleged plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

Neighbors of Barry Croft describe him as a conservative constitutionalist.

Six ABC obtained photos of heavily armed officers outside of Croft's Delaware home around midnight on Thursday.

He and his accomplices allegedly plotted for months to kidnap Whitmer from her vacation home.

Along with the six people charged, federally seven more were charged by state officials in Michigan.

As a mom of two teenage daughters and three stepson, my husband and I are eternally grateful to everyone who put themselves in harm's way to keep our family safe, she said. I didn't know anybody was outside of Michigan that was in on that. One person. And from Delaware. He's from Delaware. Yay. The home of Bob Marley for crying out of line. I mean, come on. You can't do that, man. Apparently, they were also, and I heard, I don't know this was confirmed,

but they were also targeting some higher-ups in the police

and to sort of tie them up and distract them so that they wouldn't be aware.

I mean, it was pretty elaborate.

Wow.

The criminal complaint alleges the men were part of a militia undertaking rehearsals earlier this summer,

conducting coordinated surveillance on the governor's vacation home and even had a plan to obtain explosives.

Always the best time for the militias is the rehearsals. They're so exciting.

Whitmer has been praised, but also deeply criticized for the state's response to coronavirus.

She put major restrictions on personal movement.

Court records obtained by the Associated Press say the group talked about creating a society that follows the Bill of Rights and is self-sufficient.
