Today is Friday at September 28th. Good morning, Kathy. Good morning. In the news this morning, a 31-year-old man has been arrested for shooting his parents in Delaware County, leaving his father dead and his mother hospitalized. Tinacom Township Police took Matthew Hawks into custody about 3 a.m. Friday. He is accused of shooting his father, 77-year-old Henry Hawks and his mother, 62-year-old Donna. Hox's father was pronounced dead at the scene. His mother is recovering at Crozier-Chester Medical Center. Police aid all started at 8 o'clock Thursday with what they believe was an argument at the Hawks home in Lester. A massive search got underway for the 31-year-old. Police from all over Delaware County descended upon the quiet neighborhood.

A Philadelphia police helicopter in the Delaware County District Attorney's Office also joined in on the Manhunt.

Residents were told to stay in their homes.

Authorities spent several hours looking for him in the pouring rain.

The firearm that he used was eventually recovered inside the home, and Hawks was

found hiding in a wooded area about a block from the scene and was taken into custody.

A body believed to be that of a six-year-old boy with special needs who went missing in North

Carolina over the weekend was found Thursday in a creek near the park where he was last

seen. Authority said, Gastonia Police chief Robert Helton said at a Thursday afternoon

news conference that he was heartbroken over the grim discovery five days after Maddox Rich disappeared.

This is not the end we hoped for, he told reporters fighting back tears. I've lost a lot of sleep

this week worrying about Maddox. Authorities have notified the parents of the boy FBI special agent Jason Kaplan said at the news conference.

Rich, who has autism and his nonverbal went missing in Rankin Lake Park in Gastonia on Saturday.

Police said he was last seen by his father and another adult.

The father told police that the boy ran off and when they started running after him, they lost sight of him.

A 911 caller said the boy had disappeared about an hour before they called.

The boy's body was found yesterday partially submerged in the creek by a member of the team of 15

searchers.

The depth of the creek located more than a mile east of the park was about two to three feet.
