Good morning in the news this morning. Police are investigating an afternoon triple shooting that left one man dead and two injured in Philadelphia's Germantown section. The shooting happened at about

2.30 in the 5,000 block of Germantown Avenue. Surveillance and cell phone video captured the

shooting nearby a mosque in the area. Police say three victims were taken to Temple University

Hospital by private vehicles. A 24-year-old man shot in the head died from his injuries.

A 24-year-old man shot in the hip is listed in stable but critical but stable condition and a 25-year-old man shot in the backside and his leg is listed in stable condition.

There has been no motive that's released for this shooting and so far no arrests have been made if you have any information contact police. Tropical storm Nicholas is making its way towards Texas and Louisiana

threatening to drench the region for much of the week and leave some communities flooded.

Having slowed to a near standstill in the Gulf of Mexico, the storm could strengthen significantly.

A hurricane watch is in effect for the central Texas coast, which means hurricane conditions.

Sustained winds of at least 74 miles per hour are possible within 48 hours of the watch being issued.

The risk for flash flooding from Nicholas is increasing with a level 3 of 4 risk for excessive rainfall issued for coastal sections of Texas from Monday through at least Tuesday

night, according to the Weather Prediction Center. While it's still unclear where the heaviest

rainfall will be, there will be locations that receive a storm total of at least 15 inches by the

end of the week, they're saying. Houston area school districts have canceled classes today due to

the threat of

severe weather posed by approaching tropical storm Nicholas. The powerball jackpot has grown to an

estimated $416 million ahead of Monday night's drawing. It's the game's second largest jackpot

of the year, still firmly behind the $731.1 million one in Maryland this May. The new batch of winning numbers will be drawn Monday night at 11 p.m. from Atlanta.

The winner will have to match the numbers on all five of the white balls and then the one red powerball.
