Hurricane Dorian has weakened to a category three storm, but it continues to sit

on top and pummel the Bahamas. The National Hurricane Center's 5 a.m. update showed the hurricane

0:26.0

still has sustained winds of 120 miles per hour with gusts up to 150 miles per hour. The storm is not

0:32.3

moving. It's listed as stationary, leaving the powerful storm on top of the Bahamas now for more

than 24 hours and claiming five lives. What a nightmare. Dorian is expected to start moving Tuesday morning and will pick up speed into Wednesday and Thursday moving up the east coast from Florida to Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. 1:28.1

five people, you know, were killed. Yeah. He was leading up to it. I didn't hear about, I'm sure

1:32.4

they did evacuate, but I didn't hear about like the resorts, you know, sending people home and

1:35.8

things like that. But at the height of the sustained winds, you're talking about near tornado

level stuff. One of my best friends was down in Atlantis for the week. And it's just a vacation that he'd planned with his family and he and his wife and two kids. And they tried to get an earlier flight, but getting out of the Bahamas, as you can imagine, was really difficult. So they waited it out and their timing couldn't have been any better. They got out of there about a day before Dorian hit. So they were fine. And their flight was normal, but people were crowding the airport.
