Good morning. In the news this morning, Philadelphia police officers came under fire late Wednesday night while on a narcotics investigation in North Philadelphia.

The two plainclosed police officers said they witnessed the beginning of a drug deal while parked near the intersection of Oakdale and Warnock Streets just before midnight.

The officers said they believed at least three shots were fired at them while they were sitting in an unmarked car.

According to officials, the officers spotted the suspected gunmen to go inside a home near the intersection.

Police called for the SWAT team and negotiators who quickly arrived on the scene.

After some time, four men and one woman came out of the home and were taken into custody.

It's not clear if any of those people were the suspected gunmen.

bustleton section of the city as well after police found a large cache of weaponry inside a home on Wednesday night. According to investigators, officers encountered a 72-year-old

man whom relatives expressed concern that he may be depressed or suicidal. The man was taken to the

hospital for evaluation. Relatives said the man used to be a gun dealer. Police said family members

gave them the authorization to enter the home and upon entering, they found more than 50 guns, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, 10 hand grenades,

a pipe bomb, and liquid mercury. The grenades are believed to be inactive. Investigators are

running serial numbers on the weapons to make sure that none are stolen or have been used in any

crimes. The homeowner was taken to the hospital for a mental evaluation and there's

no word on any arrests at this time. Forecasters are warning that Hurricane Dorian is gaining
