Here we are Friday, August 17th. Good morning, Kathy. Good morning in the news this morning. A Philadelphia police officer was injured during a violent struggle with a suspected thief. It happened about 115 in the morning at the right aid on the 2100 block of North Broad Street. Authorities say a security guard approached a man accused of stealing items from the store. The man pulled out a knife on the security guard the guard backed off and that's when the man fled about 45 minutes later a philadelphia police officer spotted a man fitting the suspect's description at 12th and huntington streets the officer went to stop him and the suspect ran again the officer eventually caught up with him on the 2,500 block of 12th Street and the scuffle ensued between the two. The suspect managed to slip away again,

but the officer and others managed to catch up with him in a vacant lot following another struggle.

The suspect was subdued. Yeah, police say the officer was slashed on the nose. He was taken to

Hahnemann University Hospital.

The suspect was not injured and his identity has not yet been released.

A group of four alleged toll scofflaws racked up $315,000 in unpaid bills to the Pennsylvania Turnpike and now face felony theft charges.

Yep, Jared Stiff, Kelly Robinson, Christina Heller, and Islet Farage are the first drivers to be prosecuted in Bucks County under a recent crackdown.

They were all held for trial on Thursday.

Police say Stiff owes nearly $128,000 in unpaid tolls and fees after blowing through interchanges 2,264 times and ignoring more than 4,500 collection notices. 4,500 collection notices. That's even got Pierre beat on the parking ticket. Yeah, right? Come on. Over what length of time, 4,500? You know what? It didn't say the length of time, Nick. It just said that they're... It's remarkably high. Yeah. It was over two months, Nick. Okay. Wow. So you just don't care. Yeah, you just don't pay. And you never, you never open up your mail or you do and just throw it away. I'm sure he just throws it away, man. I didn't get it. Yeah. Wow. I wonder if that's his defense. I didn't get them. 4,500. But listen to this. I didn't know this. Turnpac authority said that Nishamini and Banselam are two of the top three worst interchanges for toll violators. Interesting. Yeah. Yeah. Both of them. Yeah. So, yeah, get easy pass. Pay your tolls, please.

A whale flipped a 20-foot boat in the waters off of the Jersey shore.

New Jersey State Police released a picture of the capsized boat.

Authorities say two people were fishing in the boat in Long Branch on Thursday.

The fishermen were about 50 yards off the beach when the mammal flipped the boat. They say the whale surfaced beneath the vessel causing it to flip. Both people went overboard, but no one was hurt. They said the whale then just swam away. Other boaters in the area came over to help the men. State police joked on their Facebook page that charges against the whale are pending. Dude, that had to have scared the living hell out of those guys what you see yeah you see people

out who go out and kind of you know the boats are going in and amongst the whales as they're

moving along but the notion being flipped over by a whale just a near fashion yeah yeah for a bite

and then all of a sudden boom boom, this thing flips you over.

Did I tell you, I told you the story we were on the Long Island Sound one time.

My dad and I and my brother and we were out halfway between, you know, Long Island and Connecticut.

And we're there in the water, maybe about 70 yards away from us, starts to bubble.
