And, well, let's just welcome him. a ton of stuff. Stephen Merchant, you're here. Thank you very much for having me. Stephen, good morning. Thank you for you. Thank you for you. Yeah, we're happy to have you in. Are we live? We are live. I just wanted to check because I get very foul mail in this time of morning. You're a veteran of radio.

You've been on radio. And you love radio.

And in fact, even while you were achieving success with TV shows and so on and so forth, you return because you loved it.

You know, we were over in England for an Eagles game.

They're playing over there, the football team here.

But radio is, while it's the same, there are differences. And have you noticed dramatic differences? Or what were the differences between American radio? One of the great pleasures of radio, as you know, is that you don't need to dress up or shave or even put pants on in the morning. You can just stagger in. Showers are optional.

Shows are very much optional. And also what I love about it is it's very immediate, right? You can say something now. You can get responses immediately on the text on the Twitter. It feels much more interactive. It feels conversational. I already feel like I know you guys like we're having a beer in the pub. you know, TV and film

and everything, it's all just so much more laborious.

that's that's that's take so long to get anything done it's funny stephen because at the at the

beginning stages of when i was going to school for communications and i always wanted to do something

comedy based and oh tv and film that's going to be a tv and film that's going to be it and then just

by sort of a circuitous way ended film that's going to be it and then just by sort of

a circuitous way ended up doing stand-up comedy yeah and then radio and i said that's kind of

the same vibe between stand-up and radio and as you said that immediately and you were you started

in stand-up as well i uh i did i i'd always wanted to do it. All my heroes were stand-up comics.
