Disruptions for air travelers continued Tuesday for a fourth day with more than 9,000 flights across the United States delayed or canceled after powerful storms ripped through parts of the country.

Now, yesterday evening, the FAA called for a ground stop in Philadelphia until 6 p.m., stranding dozens of people. So far this morning, 18 flights have

been canceled at the Philadelphia International Airport. Data from Flight Aware shows more than

7,300 flights within, into or out of the United States were delayed Tuesday and more than 2100 were

canceled. Still, that's a major decrease from Monday's chaos when more than 11,000 flights were either

delayed or canceled because of severe weather and air traffic control staffing issues. Do you think there's any merit to having the pilot poll the passengers on whether they should go for it or not? So let's try it? Yeah. Who's up for it? Who's got something important that we need to get you to? Yeah, it's dice going to lie. Yeah, it's dicey. But let's... Cats, suppose somebody was flying out at 638 tonight. Do you think that they'd be okay? Well, Case, there... That's a good point, yeah. There are, uh, all the reporters from all the stations are at the airport this morning because they're all already, um, cancellations. I would, I mean, obviously you have to check to make sure your flight's still taken off but it's all it's weather and

774 flights were canceled and another 1,226 flights were delayed.

A Republic Airways, which operates feeder flights for American Airlines,

Delta and United canceled 379 flights.

On Tuesday night, the FAA implemented temporary ground stops for flights going to

all three major airports in the New York metro area. More than 40,000, sorry, 40 million people in

the Northeast and Central Plains are at risk of severe storms on Tuesday. The majority of the people

that were at risk were located in the Northeast, which did include Philadelphia, which is why they put a ground stop in as well.
