Good morning. In the news this morning, contractors finished the demolition of the damage portion of I-95.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro tweeted on Thursday evening, the demolition portion of

reconstruction had ended ahead of schedule. Crews are now readying to build a temporary roadway.

The first trucks left arrow aggregates in Eddysone, Delaware County to Philadelphia,

around 730 Thursday morning with the Pennsylvania State Police escort.

The trucks made their way to the site of the collapse carrying material needed for the highways' temporary fix.

CEO Archie Phil Schell says they'll work 24-7 to get this done and that they set up yesterday so that they can start the work today.

6ABC asked Pennsylvania Secretary of Transportation, Mike Carroll,

about a time frame, but he declined to offer specifics. Kathy, did you see they have a live

streaming video of the site? I was watching it last night. I'm like, this pretty cool.

Yes, the progress. So Carol says, I'm not going to get into three weeks or three months.

We are working as steadily as we can to do it safely and efficiently. There is no way to predict equipment failure.

He also said other factors such as weather can affect any time frame. No government official

has given a specific time frame for opening the temporary lanes. Phil Schill explained the

material is a foam glass aggregate that will build up the ground to

the surface level of I-95. It's estimated to take between 15,000 to 20,000 cubic yards. Each truck

carries about 90 cubic yards, so it will take them about 200 truck lows to complete. It's the same

compound they're using in current breast augmentation.
