Today is Friday, June 2nd. Good morning, Kathy. Good morning in the news this morning. There was an event marketed in multiple cities across the country in 2020 that was postponed because of the pandemic. The Grand White Dinner's new date for 2023 appeared to be scheduled on the events webpage for this past weekend. But there was no party, and so far there is no response or refunds from the organizers. Six ABC reported that some people bought as many as 10 to 15 tickets.

One person says she's out $695. The Grand White Dinner ticket prices were about $55 a seat and up.

The event was first scheduled for May of 2020 after being canceled in 2020.

I never heard of this. I know. In 2022, the Grand White Dinner was posted. They posted a new date on its website for Saturday, May 27th, 20203. Do you have any idea? I'm sorry, Enroll. Do you have any idea what the, is this like dinner on block? Yes, it is. Okay. Correct. It appeared to be similar to the well-known dinner on Blanc where you wear white and the location is held secret until just hours prior to the event.

Well, I'm in. That's a, it's a rip-off. It's a complete rip-off. If you're going to do... Well, it's a rip-off because they didn't even have the event. Well, I know. It's literally, quite literally a rip-off. Yeah. But, I mean, you're completely stealing the exact same thing.

Okay, interesting.

But those who had tickets check the website for updates all weekend. So, you know, it's like, okay, it's being held secret. And so everyone was checking and nothing. Yeah, nothing. Damn it. I mean, and it's... All that food that nobody has going away. But it's, I mean, it's up on their website.

The date was on there and everything.

Oh, they've stock photos and all that stuff.

Yeah, yeah.

So now the consumers want their money back, obviously.

Some say that they've tried calling and texting, but they have not heard anything.

6ABC also reached out, and no one from the company got back to them either.

Meanwhile, the Grand White Dinner webpage still has a COVID-19 notice posting, reading that the dinner is postponed until event bans are lifted by the state government.

The website says that there will be no refund but that they will offer you an opportunity to go to a different location where an event is being held.

But as far as anyone knows, the event hasn't happened in any city. It says delayed due to the Spanish flu, Kathy. So they're trying to milk this

for all they can get. The city of Philadelphia says the office of special events is not aware of any

application or permits for the event. The Grand White Dinner says tickets are covered by ticket

insurance and that consumers should reach out to its insurance

company for a full refund.

But you can imagine how that went.
