A father and son were shot after walking into their Philadelphia home while a burglary

was in progress, police said.

According to authorities, the family of four returned to the home in the 5200 block of Marlowe Street in Frankfurt around 945 last night after shopping at Home Depot.

Once inside, police say they encountered at least two males who the family did not know.

Police believe the male suspects fired at least 10 times. Both victims were taken to Temple University Hospital. The 33-year-old father was hit in the arms and torso. He's listed in critical condition. The 12-year-old son was grazed in the chest. He's in stable condition. Police said the father, who has a permit, was carrying a gun. They are not sure if he fired any shots.

Philadelphia Police Captain John Walker said, we know there could have been a gun battle in the house, and we're fortunate it appears the victims will be fine at the end of this. Police are looking for a gold minivan that left the scene. The two people killed in a six-car hit-and-run crash in the Bustleton section of Philadelphia have been identified. The victims are 50-year-old Juan A. Lopez Rivera and 48-year-old Carmen Montlovo Ruiz, the 5100 block of Whitaker Avenue.

The crash happened just before midnight Sunday on Red Lion Road in Bustleton. Rivera and Ruiz

Police said the driver who was traveling at a high speed down Red Lion Road hit two vehicles that were waiting to turn north on Bustleton Avenue. Those two cars then collided with three other
