Good morning in the news this morning.

Reports of six cases of blood clots associated with the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccination prompted U.S. health officials to pause its administration.

Soon after the CDC and the FDA recommended that health care providers and vaccination centers pause the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, word began to spread on social media that the vaccine had been recalled.

According to the data from the CDC and the FDA, the vaccine has not been recalled.

They jointly recommended a pause on giving out doses while the vaccine undergoes a review.

The FDA and the CDC released a joint statement that explains the decision of recommending a pause on the administration of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine while they evaluate a specific type of blood clot found in six women after vaccination.

In total, more than 6.8 million doses of the J&J vaccine have been administered.

But both authorities will further review the cases starting Wednesday.

The eight women were between the ages of 18 and 48 years old.

One died in a second in Nebraska as in the hospital and critical condition, according to health officials.

The vaccine will be paused in the United States while the analysis is underway.

The Philadelphia region is pausing the J&J COVID-19 vaccination and stopped administering it after the recommendation

from the county's top health agencies Tuesday morning.

So if you do have an appointment, check your appointment.

There are lists out there, but a lot of the mass vaccination sites are actually shutting

down if they were administering this J&J shot.

And they're trying to actually in some, to see if they can swap in.

Some are swat.

So some are not closing and they're just swapping if they can get one of the other vaccines.
