Good morning in the news this morning.

Pennsylvania residents outside of Philadelphia. 16 or older are now

eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine a day after the 1C category was made eligible and almost

a week earlier than originally planned. The eligibility announcement, which changed the original

date of Monday, April 12th was a surprise and most people found it to be an encouraging one.

Pennsylvania expanded its COVID-19 vaccination eligibility lists to Phase 1C on Monday.

But starting Tuesday, those in Phase 2 are now eligible, meaning vaccines are available to all adults and teenagers 16 years of age and older.

To date, Pennsylvania providers have administered more than 6 million vaccines,

and the state is ranked among the top 20 states for first dose vaccinations officials said.

More than 2.4 million Pennsylvanians are fully vaccinated.

Philadelphia also moved into Phase 1C on Monday, April 12th. The city previously announced

it would move to Phase 2 of its COVID-19 vaccine

rollout on Monday, April 19th. City officials said the date will remain despite Pennsylvania

moving up its vaccination timeline. The child who was at the center of an amber alert on Monday

has been found safe and his father is now the suspect in the deaths of the boy's mother and

grandmother. The child, two-year-old,

Byron McDonald, was found in a room at an aloft hotel near the Philadelphia International

Airport. The suspect in the case, 28-year-old, Byron McDonald the second, and the suspect's

mother were also found at the hotel. Police believe she was the one that booked the room. Both are
