Good morning in the news this morning.

Parents and students from Cherry Hill High School packed a school board meeting yesterday evening demanding answers regarding the suspension of a

beloved teacher. We talked about this yesterday. Chaos erupted almost immediately after school board

president Barry Dickinson announced that by law, the board is not allowed to speak about personal

matters. Dickinson also said that nothing he has seen in the public domain is based on

fact. The meeting came on the heels of a massive student walkout at the high school yesterday staged

in protest of the suspension of history teacher Timothy Locke. Students left class Tuesday morning

circled the school track and marched out and around the boundaries of the school property.

It was a strong response to the suspension of a beloved history teacher who voiced concerns last week about the boundaries of the school property. It was a strong response to the suspension of a beloved

history teacher who voiced concerns last week about the lack of school security in the wake of

the Florida massacre. Students say there are four security guards at Cherry Hill High School East,

but none are armed. School principal Dennis Perry threatened to suspend students who attended the

walkout Tuesday morning that only applied to

students who walked off of the school property. The district has not said how many students were

involved in the protest, but the threats of sanctions for those involved appeared to be lifted

late Tuesday. When I originally saw the footage and the sound was down, I thought, man, this is the

worst relay race I've ever seen. Yeah, slow. You know what though? I was listening. They're not even trying. To a mother speak about this and what the kids were protesting. And she said that on a number of occasions, she's walked into the school, walked into the cafeteria to find her daughter for whatever reason, whether she was picking her up early or had to drop something off and nobody ever stopped her. No kidding.

I've heard from different schools, different parents say similar things.
