Good morning in the news this morning.

Philadelphia police are continuing their investigation into a deadly ambush shooting in Philadelphia's Mannyunk section on Tuesday night. The shooting happened at about 815 on the 300 block of DuPont Street, about a block from Mannyunk Avenue. Police said the calls came flooding into 911. 41. 43-year-old Dean Fulton was pulling into his driveway when a gunman unleashed dozens of bullets into the home. Fulton was found in the driver's seat with the engine still running. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said this was an ambush, execution-style murder. According to sources, Fulton was a major drug dealer and was under investigation by the FBI. The second I heard this, I thought it had to be, because this area is very quiet. There's no, there's no, you know,

issues. So, and especially in the manner it was conducted. Sure. Somebody just pulls in their driveway and got shot up. Yeah. That was very much intended. There was so much smoke. They really didn't know yet what had happened. Like, because there was just, from all the gunfire. Wow. There was so much smoke. And then when it cleared, they realized this guy was still in his car with the engine running.

According to sources, police recovered over a dozen cell phones and at least one gun from his home.

No arrests have been made.

South Philadelphia residents and community leaders are outraged over plans for a safe house supervised injection site that could open as early as next week at the Constitution Health Plaza.

It would be the first of its kind in the country.

Residents of the area expressed outrage on Wednesday as members of Safe House made their presentation saying,

we were ambushed and expressing displeasure and concern over the choice of location for the proposed facility.

Safehouse organizers say the site was chosen in South Philadelphia because the zip code has the third highest overdose rate in the city.

However, Action News did some investigating, and they say that they found records that show that South Philadelphia is actually tied for sixth.

Well, they were talking to a pastor or somebody who's in the area and he says the building that this is located in there are like two daycare centers.

There's a high school right down the block.

Yes.

Yeah.

So this hasn't been done before, right?

It's not in the United States.
