Good morning. In the news this morning, police say a dispute over a parking spot led to a shooting in Center City on Thursday afternoon. According to police, the shooting happened in the 1700 block of Chestnut at about 150 p.m. Police said the driver of a white car pulled into a parking spot near the intersection of 17th in chestnut that a food delivery driver wanted to park in as well. The delivery driver allegedly got out of his silver SUV and the two exchanged words. The delivery driver wanted to park in as well. The delivery driver allegedly got out of his silver

SUV and the two exchanged words. The delivery driver punched the other man, knocking him off of

his feet. The man then shot the delivery driver in the jaw and back. The delivery driver tried to

drive off, but he didn't make it far. Police say that he made it to the intersection of 17th in

Chestnut Streets before he could barely drive. A good Samaritan then took the driver to Thomas Jefferson

University Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. The shooter is still being

sought by investigators. Police are thankful that no one else was injured. If you have any

information, contact police. You know, I'm curious. So this is, obviously, this guy was shot and that's crazy over the top, right?

I mean, that's obviously breaking the law.

You're shooting someone.

But punching someone as well, if this guy's a victim, right,

will he face some kind of a charge for assault on, you know what I mean?

Even though he was a victim? Because you would have to, I guess if you go through the legal wranglings, you would have to see. In other words, was that a proper defense for what he was facing at the time? Yeah. I mean, looking at the video, it just looks like an argument and all of a sudden the guy decides to punch him. And dude up and pulls a gun and shoots at him so i that's uh that's one for the lawyers

yeah let the courts determine that yeah i don't know i mean listen if i felt my life was was in in uh in dire danger right i would pull

it you know if i had a firearm on me, I would obviously use it.

I don't know what's going on.

It's hard to the guy gets punched and he's knocked to the ground and the dude is getting in the car.

At that point, danger is over.

The guy is leaving.
