Good morning in the news this morning. The federal government is temporarily reopening today

after the longest government shut down in U.S. history. 800,000 federal employees who were

furloughed for 35 days will head back to work today.

President Donald Trump signed legislation to end the partial government shutdown.

The economic cost was measured at $6 billion, yes, $6 billion, according to Friday's estimates by

S&P global ratings.

That's 300 million more than Trump's demand for the $5.7 billion to build the

southern border wall. The measure signed late Friday temporarily reopens the government until

February 15th to allow lawmakers' time to continue discussions on southern border security.

Several people and a dog needed to be rescued from an icy Delaware waterway Sunday.

The Rottweiler went under the water and the owner jumped into the water to get him.

Then he started struggling so his son went in to rescue him. Officials said bystanders were able to get both the father and son out of the water using a flotation ring before the rescue crews even arrived. Has this happened a couple times in this location? It has in the same location. They said that geese are the problem, and the dogs are running out to chase the geese, and then they're falling in, and then the owners are going in to get their get their dogs. Kill all the geese and save the dogs. I think that's the most viable, right? There's some sort of a machine gun or something. Oh. I think from the shore, a concentrated machine gun fire would eliminate the problem. Maybe we could set up a nest or something there. I think so. Yeah. I don't know.
