In the news this morning, a Philadelphia police officer was hospitalized after he was dragged while inside a vehicle following a traffic stop on Tuesday night. It happened at 915 at 53rd in Baltimore Avenue in West Philadelphia. Police say a Nissan Morano being driven by a 25-year-old man had an expired temporary tag and its brake lights were out. The officer told the driver to turn his vehicle off and the man complied. But when officers were questioning the driver, they realized that there was a gun in the vehicle. Authorities asked him about it and then he reached for the weapon. Police say the driver then turned the SUV back on and took off while a 30-year-old male officer was still partially inside. The officer's legs were reportedly hanging out of the driver's side door.
