Good morning in the news this morning. A 61-year-old man carrying $20 was shot at point-blank range during a violent robbery in North Philadelphia.

Authorities have recovered surveillance footage, which they have not released yet, that captures the robbery on camera.

Police say the victim was walking at 22nd in Cambria streets at about 830 last night when he was approached by five men.

Authorities say the suspect picked the man at random. The victim told police the men

searched his pockets and took $20.

And you shoot someone in the face

for that? Yep. Then one of the suspects

shot him at point blank range.

The men ran away. That's a murderer.

Yeah. I mean, that's just all that is.

$20. That's not a big, you know, I need to cover this up because I've stolen, you know, hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars. It's just somebody who wanted to kill someone. So that's a murderer on the street right now, whether the man is, he lived, correct? Who was shot in the face? He did, yes. Yeah. But it's still, that's, no, you don't shoot someone in the face. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. We were discussing this actually at dinner last night for some reason. What to do when somebody comes up with a, you know, and demand your wallet. Give it to them. Just give it to them. Yeah. Give it to them. It's not worth your life. Yeah. If that person is using a walker, though, you can probably hold on to it for a bit. But you don't know. But you would hope that whoever is stealing said wallet is not a complete psychopath like this person. Yeah. Well, you had no, there's no recourse. You know, the money's handed over. Yeah. So the men ran away on South, South on 21st Street. The only description police have of the

suspects is that they were wearing dark colored coats. The victim is now stable, but has a

bullet lodged in his face. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

A monthly mass, remembering Philadelphia police officers killed in the line of duty was held at

St. Matthew's Church Wednesday night. A large crowd gathered at the church in Mayfair to remember those

who died, but also to pray for the recovery of Highway Patrol officer Andy Chan. Chen remains

hospitalized following an on-duty accident earlier this month. Among those in attendance were

members of Chan's family
