Good morning. In the news this morning, newly obtained court documents reveal that authorities investigating the University of Idaho's student killings had been keeping a close eye on suspect Brian Koberger well before his identity was released to the public.

On December 30th, authorities announced that Koberger had been arrested in connection to the murders of four students.

Before then, no information about a suspect was known publicly other than police were searching for a white Hyundai Allantra.

According to court documents unsealed yesterday, authorities had a suspect description quite early in the investigation,

and COBURR matched it on November 29th more than a month before the nation knew his identity.

You know, it's funny because initially it looked like there was a massive cluster F going on with

the investigation, and there were some things that were missed.

But what you find out is that they did not want to at all tip their hand.

Yeah, of course.

But they had any indication.

And in fact, when they were pulled over in Indianapolis twice, what they were looking to see is they asked the cops to see if he had a cut or an injury on his hand. I said that to somebody the day. I said, I wonder if those, him getting pulled over wasn't for this investigation. And I, you know what, I didn't even see that, Steve. Oh, I was right. You were right. I could probably be an investigator.

Absolutely.

Some of the key pieces of information.

That's the one that loves meatloaf.

Some of the key pieces of information from the investigation that were not originally made public. trash recovered from the Pennsylvania home of Koeberger's family late last month revealed that the

DNA matched a tan leather knife sheath found laying on the bed of one of the victims,

according to the probable cause affidavit.

One of the two roommates who was not harmed during the attack described a masked figure with bushy eyebrows.

So they did have somewhat of a description.
