All right, today is Thursday. It is May 9th. Good morning, Kathy.

Good morning in the news this morning. A South Jersey man posing as a code enforcement officer is allegedly terrorizing

his neighbors in the Holly Hill section of West Hampton, New Jersey. Police say the man

prays on homeowners with unkept lawns and leaves aggressive notes after slashing tires and keying the

cars parked in the driveways. The incidents have been going on since last fall, but authorities

say they recently escalated this week when he was caught in the act. Police said one victim's camera caught the suspect on home surveillance keying her car after she had just returned from vacation early Monday morning. Well, the legitimate code enforcement officer, uh, slash your tires and he's part of the deal. I don't know. I don't know what they're, I thought they would leave something in your door. Yeah. I don't know what their limitations are. Yeah. So he writes a note,

right? And at the top, it says, like, code enforcement. Like, he's claiming that that's what he's doing in his own way. And then it says, like, it says, like, cut your lawn, edge your, your sidewalk, you know, it has all these things, and keep clean as the last one.

First, it's a warning.

Second slash tires, third.

Keep car.

Right.

Yeah. This really gets under this guy's skin. And listen, this woman was on vacation. Oh, my God. He turned back Monday morning and he keyed her freaking car. So that's probably why her lawn got a little bit overgrown.

Steve, this guy's like the Punisher,

but like he's a bit of tiny code and for him. Yeah, of the lawn.

So the woman said

They let their lawn grow. They let the yard

become unkempt. Something had to be done.

The trimmer. Yeah. The Pun done. The trimmer. Yeah.

The punisher. The trimmerer. So the woman said that she got the camera after the first time when he slashed her tires. So he slashed this woman's tires. And then he came back a second time. And the camera had been installed. And it caught him keying the cars. Now, West Hampton police believe that the vandal strikes in the early morning hours between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. when he's walking his dog. There is surveillance footage. I saw it on 6 ABC.
