Let's dive into everything baseball related from Tuesday, May 12th.

We'll start it off as always with the transactions, injuries, news and notes from around

the league kicking things off with the bad news.

As catcher, Sean Murphy was placed on the 10-day IL with a fractured finger.

Murphy will miss at least eight weeks recovering from the fracture to his finger.

And it's a big blow.

Not only to Murphy, who spent just

one week healthy on the active roster after recovering from hip surgery all offseason. So that's got

a suck. But also the Braves traded away Jonah Heim, who was their backup catcher to Drake Baldwin

before Murphy returned from his initial injury.

And now he's gone.

He's on the A's.

So they won't have a great backup catcher.

So they had to go out and sign Sandy Leone to a major league contract.

And the veteran backstop Leon will be the backup to Drake Baldwin.

Jim Jarvis was also optioned to the miners by the Braves and outfielder.
