Supply chain issues continue to have a major impact on smartphone manufacturers

per newly released figures from analyst firm Canales. Global shipments grew only 1%

year over year in the final quarter of 2021. The numbers come on the tale of Q3 reports,

which saw an overall drop of 6% citing similar issues over

component supply.

In other news, Automaker Ford and ADT, a company that provides home and business security and alarm monitoring services have launched a joint venture called Canopy that aims to address vulnerabilities in current vehicle security offerings.

Canopy will initially offer an aftermarket accessory that can be mounted onto a vehicle

to monitor its surroundings and alert drivers of issues like theft or vandalism.

And Gaming Giant Activition Blizzard under the gun from investors over sexual harassment

controversies and ongoing executive turmoil, has pulled the escape cord.

The company has agreed to be acquired by Microsoft in a 68.7 billion dollar

all-cash deal inclusive of the company's net cash.
