Today we're going to take a look at China's recent announcement of new security laws over Hong Kong that could undermine its autonomy and special privileges the city has been granted by the US.

The announcement had been made a few hours before the National People's Congress came together for their annual

lawmakers meeting. These new laws would entail tighter security

restrictions that affect Hong Kong through targeting subversion, terrorism,

and foreign influence operations.

Xinhua China's state-owned news outlet reported that quote,

when needed relevant national security organs of the Central People's

government will set up agencies in Hong Kong to fulfill relevant duties to safeguard

national security."

No details have been put forth yet about how these new laws will be carried out, but that hasn't

stopped the U. the US from being

outwardly spoken about their stance and markets for making dramatic price action on

the news. If the US deems in a move like these new security laws further

deteriorates the one country two systems policy
