| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the Fat Emperor podcast. I'm your host, Ivor Cummins. |
| 0:07.7 | A little bit on diabetes, because we talked about it earlier as being a primary cause, |
| 0:12.7 | but you might also hear warranty periods. So a zero score in these people in a big study |
| 0:19.8 | had 15 years warranty. In other words, their death a big study had 15 years warranty in other words their death |
| 0:23.2 | rate in the following 15 years was so low due to their zero score that they basically called |
| 0:29.4 | it a warranty right that's how powerful it is however diabetics full diabetics diagnosed did not get |
| 0:37.0 | 15 years they only got four or five years warranty. |
| 0:39.3 | And there's a reason for that, and I'll just explain it, because atrosis is a progressive disease. |
| 0:45.3 | And I'd liken it to, if you have got a vehicle that's rust-proofed, okay, it's rust-proofing built into it, and you see zero rust, know an engineer might be able to say okay that means for 15 years you're not going to get dangerous rust |
| 1:00.0 | But if you then bring a vehicle in and say this is non-rust proved this is not rust-proofed and it is no rust |
| 1:06.9 | So okay maybe at four or five years before it gets dangerous rust so're a diabetic, it's such an accelerator of atherosclerosis that you don't get as long a warranty. |
| 1:16.6 | Okay? |
| 1:17.6 | So non-diabetics get 15 years and diabetics maybe four or five years. |
| 1:23.6 | Diabetics would need to check their CAC after three or four years to see are they actually any still a zero or are they rising because only calcium will tell you okay |
| 1:33.3 | Whereas a non diabetic average person can probably wait seven or eight or nine years and check in |
| 1:38.8 | You need to check in maybe I'm diabetic now. You know maybe my calcium has gone up and I might have to do something more. |
| 1:46.0 | The people who got more than 400 in this same study are very different. |
| 1:51.0 | Whether diabetic or non-diabetic, you're talking huge mortalities over 15 years. |
| 1:57.0 | No one gets a warranty if you get a high CAC score. If you get a high score, there's no warranties. |
| 2:03.6 | What you need to do if you get a high score is implement a fix very quickly, right? |
| 2:08.6 | Like David did. |
| 2:09.6 | Because when you get a high score, you know the fire is burning fast. |
