It's good to see everybody. It's good to be here. It's good to not be alone.

It's good that we have a place like this is peaceful. A little bit of an oasis in the

middle of the chaos of life.

A place that we can gather and allow the scriptures to speak into our lives.

So I'm grateful, grateful today that we can be here taking the next step forward.

We began the Book of Jeremiah yesterday. In the Old Testament, we concluded the letter to the Philippians yesterday in the New Testament, so we have some new territory to move into in the New Testament.

But we're going to be camping out in Jeremiah for a bit.

And we should pay attention to Jeremiah.

He's a very authentic prophet who very much does not want to be doing what he's doing most of the time

Because nobody's listening to him and his devotion to God really only makes his life worse, which is exasperating at times.

And so let's jump in.

Jeremiah, chapter 2, 31 through 4, verse 18 today.

You people of this generation listen to the board's message, have I been like a

wilderness to you Israel? Have I been like a wilderness to you, Israel?

Have I been like a dark and dangerous land to you?

Why then do you say, we are free to wander. We will not come to you anymore. Does a young woman forget to put

on her jewels? Does a bride forget to put on her bridle attire?

Well, my people have forgotten me for more days than can even be counted.

My, how good you have become at chasing after your lovers?
