Today is the 27th day of May. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian. It is so good to be together with you today

here around the global campfire.

With a heart of gratitude, I am so, uh, just so overjoyed to spend some time together in the scriptures again, day by day, step by step as we make this journey together through life, together,

through the Bible, together. I'm glad that we're together. Here, it's good to see everybody.

It's good to see you. I'm glad that this is happening and that we have this place to be.

And so we've come for one primary purpose together to take another step forward on the journey through the scriptures.

And that always, always, always leads us right back to where we left off exactly

so that we can take another step, the next step forward.

And that right now is in Second Samuel.

In Second Samuel leads us into the depths of the life of of David who becomes the king of

Israel and he has indeed become the king of all of Israel at this point and we have watched him

trust God to stay alive we have watched him on the run we have watched him trust God to stay alive. We have watched him on the run.

We have watched him slay giants.

We have watched the whole story.

And we reached this point yesterday where it's like everything.

Everything falls apart in a moment.

David takes another man's wife.

She becomes pregnant.

And he ends up trying to cover it up.

But he's unsuccessful and so he has her husband who is one of the most elite loyal people to David

Uriah the Hittite he has him killed to cover up his own sin, to hide his own choices.

So, it's with that backdrop that we take the next step forward today.
