Today is the 22nd day of May. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I'm Brian. It's wonderful to be here

with you today, today and every day

And this day is well, it's very different than any other day, right? It's today

But it's no different than any other day because we've come here for the same purpose.

And that's to take the next step forward in our journey or on our journey through the scriptures this year.

Yesterday we concluded the book of First Samuel,

and so that will lead us to the opening verse of Second Samuel,

which is what we'll get into today just by a way of

reminder first second Samuel and first and second Kings in the original

manuscripts the earliest ones that exist.

These are all, they're all one text, and they've been broken apart in a couple of different

ways over time.

The way that we have them broken up now happened when the King James Bible was formed, so we have

first and second Samuel, but we're not like moving into something new that we need to talk about.

We're continuing exactly with the story.

What we will notice as we transition from First Samuel to Second Samuel is that 1st Samuel really aims itself at watching King Saul and then

David is interaction with David Saul's dead now.

And so as we go into second Samuel,

we are focusing completely on David and his life

and we should pay attention to what happens here as we go in because if we know

the story we understand that David was the King of Israel.

King David, he's like the most famous King of Israel.
