Today is the 10th day of May. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I'm Brian. It is good to be here with you today.

It's pretty. How is it where you are? I hope it's nice. Everything

comes alive in the Rolling Hills of Tennessee. Green, green, green, green, green, green,

and then grow, grow, grow, hot, hot, hot, hot.

That's kind of how it goes around here.

But it is lovely and it is a joy to be here with you today from here wherever you are we are

together around the global campfire and we're here sitting, releasing, exhaling, letting these anxieties, this

depression, whatever it is the

just the anxiousness of being alive

letting that go

and seeking a place of peace in the scriptures.

And so let's take that next step forward.

Today, we'll continue our journey through First Samuel,

chapters eight and 9 today.

In his old age, Samuel appointed his sons as judges over Israel.

The name of his firstborn son was Joel, and the name of his second son was a

Bayhia. They were judges in Biershiba, but his sons did not follow his ways. Instead, they made

money dishonestly, accepted bribes, and perverted justice.

So all the elders of Israel gathered together and approached Samuel at Rama.

They said to him, look, you are old and your sons don't follow your ways. So now a point over us a king to lead us, just like all

the other nations have. But this request displeased Samuel for they said give us a king to lead us.

So Samuel prayed to the Lord.
