Today is the fifth day of May, Cinco de Mayo.

It's good to be here with you today.

Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible.

I am Brian. It's also great to greet a brand new shiny sparkly

week and remind ourselves that it's in front of us.

We will make of it what we will.

But we have choices, and we're going to make them,

and we can make them well if we slow down enough to pay

attention to what we're doing. And so let's do that as we go into this new week.

We're going to finish something today.

I'm going to finish the book of judges actually right now.

As we conclude the final story in the Book of Judges, which is a pretty terrifying story that

starts out with a man in his concubine and ends up with the destruction of an entire tribe of Israel.

And that's how the Book of Judges ends.

And the Book of Judges has been telling us all along,

people are doing whatever they want.

People are doing what they think is right in their own eyes.

There is no leadership, there is no king.

Everybody's kind of for themselves at this point and this has gone on for centuries and it's led to this point where

man Civil War an entire tribe the tribe of Benjamin, is being annihilated.

And so we'll finish the book of judges, and then we'll catch our breath for just a second.

And we'll move into the book of Ruth,
