It's great to be here with you today at the closing of another week together.

I'd have to count them up and see how many weeks we're in, but a bunch with a lot to go.

We've covered so much ground, haven't we?

Ah, in these first three months, and we have so much in front of us to explore together,

and I'm glad that we can be here for the next step forward today.

And that next step forward leads us back into these three final discourses of Moses

that he is speaking to the children of Israel.

This is known as the Book of Deuteronomy.

Today, Deuteronomy chapters 11 and 12.

Therefore, love the Lord your God and always keep his mandate and his statutes, ordinances, and commands.

Understand today that it is not your children who experienced or saw the discipline of the Lord your God.

His greatness, strong hand and outstretched arm,

his signs and the works he did in Egypt, a Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and all his land,

what he did to Egypt's army, its horses and chariots, when he made the water of the Red Sea flow

over them as they pursued you, and he destroyed them completely.

What he did to you in the wilderness until you reached this place.

And what he did to Dayton and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the Rubinite,

when in the middle of the whole Israelite camp, the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them,

their households, their tents, and every living thing with them.
