Today is the 12th day of the month of March. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian. It is

a joy, an honor, a privilege to be here with you today as we continue. continue, what we show up for every day to take the

next step forward on the grand journey that is the Bible. And what a journey it is and has been

grateful to be here today for that next step as we continue through the season of Lent as we're working our way toward Easter and carrying with us the awareness of the weight of sin, of the damage that we have done.

We watch this story, the crucifixion of Jesus, the passion of the Christ as it were

play out in the Gospel of Mark yesterday.

So this is fresh in our minds as we sit with it and work toward Easter.

It's important for us to not like to skip straight into Easter and skip Good Friday,

like to just jump toward the restoration and forget the reason and the cost of it all.

And so we sit with that as we continue forward.

We will conclude the Gospel of Mark today when we get there, but before we get there,

we have to go back into the book of numbers. Today, chapter 16, verse 41 through 18, verse 32.

But on the next day,

all the congregation of the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and

against Aaron, saying, You have killed the people of the Lord. And when the congregation had

assembled against Moses and against Aaron, they turned toward the tent of meeting. And behold,

the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord

appeared. And Moses and Aaron came to the front of the tent of meeting, and the Lord spoke

to Moses, saying, get away from the midst of this congregation that I may consume them in a moment.

And they fell on their faces. And Moses said to Aaron,

Take your censor and put fire on it,

from off the altar and lay incense on it and carry it quickly to the congregation
