Today is the 23rd day of June.

Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible.

I am Brian, just like every day, and I am grateful to be here with you, like every day,

here around the global campfire, the place that we make for each other every day.

A place where we're safe for each other and for ourselves.

A safe place in the chaos of it all and the ups and downs of it all, a constant, a constant

oasis.

We come to allow the scriptures into our lives, into the soil of our hearts, and allow it actually make it good soil,

allow it to get into the rocky places, muddy places, all the broken places of our lives, all of the strong and courageous

places of our lives, and allow it to continue to challenge and transform us.

So grateful to be here with you today for the next step forward,

which is always a step right after the one we just took.

And so right now we're working our way through the book of Second Kings.

And whereas First Kings, at least prophetically,

deals with the prophetic voice of Elijah,

Second Kings has the prophetic voice of Elisha,

as we navigate through the kings of Judah and Israel.

And just picking up where we left off yesterday,

Elisha has told a woman

and through her to her husband,

people who have been benevolent toward him,

that she will have a son.
