Hi, welcome. I'm Brian. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible.

Welcome back around the global campfire.

I am so grateful that you have shown up, that you showed up for yourself today,

and that you showed up here in community for each other today.

With a heart of gratitude, I am glad to be here in this safe oasis that we create for each other in the midst of the chaos that life can bring.

This true place, this safe place where we can let it all go for a period of time and orient ourselves to God and do that through

the scriptures allowing them inside of us to bring lights and life and good news.

And those are all really good things.

Sometimes they can be painful things though when the light shines into our own darkness.

And the Bible doesn't flinch.

And that just brings us into a safe place to make some choices about whether or not we're allowing the work of transformation to happen in our lives or not.

So I am so glad need that so much, so grateful to be here with you today as we gather to

take the next step forward. We are in the book of First Chronicles right now. We're in the

part of the Bible that is famous for all of the names that are recited.

All of the genealogies that are famous, but most people like don't understand why

they're there and they kind of check out.

They're there for a reason, though.

We've been traveling since January with the children of Israel.

We've followed their path from a promise to a man named Abraham,

to slavery in Egypt, to wandering in the wilderness for a generation

into the promised land, into the settling of the promised land, into the times of the judges,
