Today is the 27th day of January. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. Brian, it is great to be here with you today in the wintertime.

At least here in the northern hemisphere. Welcome to the global campfire.

If you're in a southern hemisphere, I guess it's like a summer kind of campfire.

And if you're here in the northern hemisphere, it's like a winter kind of campfire.

So, here we are.

No matter what time it is.

Taking the next step forward, we are like moving into a new book, the book of Exodus, the second book in the Bible.

And a couple days in now.

So we've met this figure, this person that is very profoundly influential until today. His name is Moses.

So we got to know his origin story.

How he was a Hebrew that was ultimately raised as an adopted son to Pharaoh's daughter, so he was raised and educated among royalty.

So he got the best education an Egyptian could, but he killed an Egyptian.

And so, you know, he's grown up now, and he's to flee and God has appeared to him in a burning bush. And let's keep the story going. Exodus chapter 4, verse 1 through 5,

verse 21 today.

But Moses responded,

what if they do not believe me and do not listen to my voice?

But instead they say,

The Lord has not appeared to you.

So the Lord said to him,

What is that in your hand? He said, a staff.

He said, throw it on the ground. Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake. So he ran away

from it. The Lord said to Moses, stretch out your hand and take it by the tail. He stretched out his hand and took hold of it and it became a staff in his hand.
