Fantastic to be here with you today.

How wonderful, grateful, grateful to be here with you today.

As we gather around the global campfire yet again to take the next step forward, we have stepped

our way all the way through the first book of the Bible. We concluded the book of Genesis

yesterday, and then we talked about Exodus, and so we know we have moved several centuries

into the future from Genesis, where Genesis leaves off with the death of Joseph.

We have moved forward and we are seeing the oppression of the children of Israel in Egypt at this point,

and we have met Moses as a baby in the Nile River.

Pharaoh's daughter has adopted him and Moses will be a key central figure for quite a while now on our journey forward as we navigate the Bible but

as we also learn of this family, the family of Abraham,

which is the centerpiece of the entire Bible.

And so, let's continue forward today, Exodus chapter 2, verse 11 through 3, verse 22.

One day after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched

them at their hard labor.

He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people.

Looking this way and that and seeing

no one, he killed the Egyptian and hit him in the sand. The next day he went out and saw

two Hebrews fighting. He asked the one in the wrong, why are you hitting your fellow Hebrew?

The man said, Who made you ruler and judge over us?

Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian?
