I am Brian.

It's fantastic to be here with you today as we bring to a close, one of the weeks that we get to spend together.

We'll be doing more than bringing a week to a close.

We have reached the conclusion of our first book in the Bible,

which is the first book in the Bible, the book of Genesis.

And so we'll finish the book of Genesis today

and then move into the next book.

The next part of the story, the book of Exodus.

And we'll talk about that when we get there, but first, Genesis chapter 50.

And then we'll begin Exodus, obviously, from chapter 1, verse 1,

and then we'll read all the way to chapter 2 verse 10 today

Then Joseph hugged his father's face

He wept over him and kissed him

Joseph instructed the physicians in his service to embalm his father,

so the physicians embalmed Israel. It took 40 days, for that is the full-time needed for embalming.

The Egyptians mourn for him 70 days.

When the days of mourning had passed, Joseph said to Pharaoh's royal court,

"'If I have found favor in your sight, please say to Pharaoh,

my father made me swear on oath.

He said, I am about to die.
