Like every day, I'm Brian. It's great to be here with you like every day.

What a, what a honor that we can be here together, no matter where we are, and take another step forward.

And we've been working our way through this first month of the year and through the first book of

the Bible, the book of Genesis.

And we've been focused pretty heavily on the story of Joseph, which is the great grandson of Abraham,

who's in charge of all of Egypt at this point.

We've gone through that story.

And Israel, or Jacob, has found out that his long-lost dead son is lost no more and not dead.

And he wants to see him.

Before he dies, he's really old now.

And let's continue.

This story, Genesis, chapters 46 and 47 today.

So Israel began his journey, taking with him all that he had.

And when he came to Birshiba, he offered sacrifices to the god of his father Isaac.

God spoke to Israel in a vision during the night and said, Jacob,

and he replied, here I am.

He said, I am God, the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there. I will go down with you to Egypt and I myself will certainly bring you back from there.

Joseph will close your eyes."

Then Jacob started out from Birshiba and the sons of Israel carried their father, Jacob,

their little children and their wives in the wagons that Pharaoh had sent along to transport him.

Jacob and all his descendants took their livestock and the possessions they had acquired in the land of Canaan, and they went to Egypt.
