Welcome back to the global campfire. This safe place that we create for each other every day.

I'm glad to be here. I hope you are too. Glad to be in a safe place where just the anxieties and cares of this life that just swirl.

Basically just swirl underneath it all.

It can just be set aside for a second, focusing in on letting something safe be poured into my spirits.

I hope that's the same for you.

Working our way through the book of Genesis,

we're way into the book of Genesis.

Man, we've started at the beginning, right and and then we moved all through until we got to

Abram who became Abraham and then Isaac and his life and then Jacob and he saw and Jacob's life

and then Jacob's name was changed to Israel, and we learned about his children,

understanding, oh, wait, these are the children of Israel. That's not like a metaphor. That's a literal

thing. These people, their offspring, will become tribes. That hasn't happened yet. But then we've zoomed in on one of those children.

His name is Joseph, and he was the favored one, and he was a dreamer, and he had these dreams, and he's young, like he's a young kid.

And so there's an arrogance there, and because he's favored,

there's a superiority there, and that never works out well in life. It didn't work out well

in life for Joseph. His brothers kind of hated him, picked on him, but actually hated him,

because he walked around, like, with his superiority.

And he had the coat of many colors, and his dad sent him to check on the boys,

check on their shepherding, see how they're doing, and come back and give them a report.

It kind of puts him in the superior position, and when they see him coming, they're just like, yeah, enough.

Let's kill him.
