It's glad to be here with you in this little safe oasis that we make for each other every day

we're all here for the same reason we're all needing the same thing

we're all taking the next step forward

and we are literally all on the same page together.

It's quite a place.

And quite an honor to be here together with you today, as we do that, take the next step forward.

In our journey through the book of Genesis, we're in the third generation now after Abraham.

So Abraham, Isaac, and now Jacob, and Jacob's a twin brother with Esau, and so we've gotten to

kind of know that story a little bit. Has a little bit of echoes to Cain and Abel, but also seeing something

that's kind of interwoven into this family. Remember Abraham, right? He goes down to Egypt,

and his wife, Sarah, she's gorgeous, beautiful. The Bible says she's extraordinarily beautiful.

So Abraham claims that she's his sister, because she is his half-sister. And so there is this

trickery going on. Then Abraham gets back into the land of Canaan and goes to Abimelech, the king of Harar, and tricks him the same way.

But then Isaac is born and he marries Rebecca, and they go to the same place to the city of Arar to King of Bimilek.

And Isaac says the same thing about his wife, Rebecca.

She's my sister.

So, I mean, the Bible tells us the context.
