It is wonderful to be here with you today.

One of the safest places that I know because we come here for one reason to let the Bible

will speak for itself into our lives. And I'm grateful that we can take the next step forward.

We are in the book of Genesis,

and we have moved through some pretty disruptive territory

in the story of Sodom and Gomorrah,

the story of Lot and his daughters.

And now we're turning back to Abraham.

Today, Genesis, chapters 20, 21, and 22.

Abraham moved south to the Ngev and lived for a while between Kadesh and

Shur, and then he moved on to Harar.

While living there as a foreigner, Abraham introduced his wife Sarah by saying,

She is my sister.

So, King Abimelech of Arar sent for Sarah and had her brought to him at his palace.

But that night God came to Abimelech in a dream and told him,

You are a dead man.

For that woman you have taken is already married.

But Abimelech had not slept with her yet.

So he said, Lord, will you destroy an innocent nation?
