Today is the 8th day of January. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I'm Brian. It's great to be here with you today.

Ah, that's like a deep breath and an exhale and we're here presence and let's just kind of come back to ourselves and imagine we found our place around the global

campfire and we can look across the fire and see brothers and sisters across there and next to us and

we're here it's safe here. We're going to listen to the Bible together and take another step

forward together in our lives.

And so our next step leads us back into the book of Genesis.

And we're getting to know this man named Abraham.

Now, his name was Abram.

And then he entered into covenant with God,

and God changed his name to Abraham,

and changed his wife's name from Surai to Sarah.

And they have been promised a child.

And they're too promised a child.

And they're too old for that. They're pushing a hundred.

And so let's pick up the story.

Genesis chapter 18 verse 16 through 19 verse 38.

When the men got up to leave, they looked down towards Sodom, and Abraham walked along with them to see them on their way and the

Lord said shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?

Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation,

and all the nations on earth will be blessed through him.

For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children

and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just,
