Today is the seventh day of January. Welcome to the daily audio Bible. I am Brian.

It is great to be here with you as we greet a brand new shiny sparkly week, it's all out in front of us friends and most of the

year is out in front of us so we're just getting started but we're here at the beginning of a

week a fresh start new perspective and we get to live into this week and the story of our lives will be told through the thoughts and words and deeds of

our lives as we navigate this week.

And so let's pay attention to what we're doing.

And one of the things that we are paying attention to

is this rhythm that we're establishing showing up

for each other every day

around the global campfire taking a step forward

leaning into each other, leaning into the scriptures and allowing them to guide us.

And so we're moved in to all the four books that we're in right now,

Genesis, Matthew, Psalms, and Proverbs, and will continue the journey.

This week we will read from the new international version and today Genesis

chapter 16 verse 1 through 18, verse 15.

Now Surai, Abram's wife, had born him no children.

But she had an Egyptian slave named Hagar.

So she said to Abram,

The Lord has kept me from having children.

Go, sleep with my slave. Perhaps I can build a family through her."

Abram agreed to what Surai said. So after Abram had been living in Cain in 10 years,
