I am Brian.

Oh wow, couldn't be more fantastic to be here than it is.

Right? We're moving into the first full week of this brand new year.

I am grateful that we can be together as we do it.

We'll get to greet these new weeks 52 times, right?

And so here we are at the first brand new, shiny, sparkly beginning of a new week.

And it's kind of a time for us to re-center ourselves because there is a week that is going to happen.

And we are going to make that week whatever it's going to be so it's

brand new and shiny and sparkly and waiting for us and it's ours and we can absolutely destroy it

or we can completely live into it and embrace it. And so let's take it as a fresh start,

our first full week of the year, and let's take the next step forward. We'll read from the

New Living Translation this week. And we're continuing our journey through the book of Genesis.

Today, chapter 11, verse 1 through 13, verse 4.

At one time, all the peoples of the world spoke the same language and used the same words.

As the people migrated to the east, they found a plain in the land of Babylonia and settled there.

They began saying to each other, let's make bricks and harden them with fire.

In this region bricks were used instead of stone and tar was used for mortar.

Then they said, come, let's build a great city for ourselves with a tower that reaches into

the sky.

This will make us famous and keep us from being scattered all over the world.
