Today is the third day of January.

Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible.

I'm Brian.

It is wonderful to be here with you today on the third day, the third step of our journey,

which has a duration, 365 steps, one step a day, all the way through the Bible.

So obviously this is step three, this is day three, we're just getting going, but my goodness,

in just a couple of short steps, a couple of short days.

We have found out a lot.

We have found a context for what happened to us.

Like the trauma of the human race, the loss of innocence,

the knowledge of good and evil,

instead of the knowledge of God,

the trade of pure love for knowledge?

That explains a heck of a lot, doesn't it?

Because knowledge is what we think is our power and our sovereignty.

And if we look around at human history, look what we've done with our knowledge, amazing things,

and complete devastation as well.

We're also in the book of Matthew and just getting glimpses of this man. Jesus, who is this?

Why does everybody in the world know this person's name still?

Who was this person?

What did he really do? What did he say? What was he like?

We get to find all of that out as we go forward day by day and step by step.
