Today is the 26th day of February. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian. It is wonderful to be here again every day as we gather here around the global campfire. We're making this place by showing up every day for ourselves.

By showing up every day for each other.

I'm glad I could show up today.

I'm so grateful that you could show up today.

We're in the book of Leviticus right now.

We're moving our way through the Mosaic law that organizes the people of the Bible,

the organization that will kind of carry us through the rest of the story.

So that is foundational at this point.

Let's take that next step.

Leviticus, chapter 19, verse 1 through 20, verse 21.

The Lord told Moses to say to the community of Israel,

I am the Lord your God.

I am holy and you must be holy to.

Respect your father and your mother.

Honor the Sabbath and don't make idols or images.

I am the Lord your God.

When you offer a sacrifice to ask my blessing, be sure to follow my instructions.

You may eat the meat either on the day of the sacrifice or on the next day,

but you must burn anything left over on the third day.

If you eat any of it on the third day, the sacrifice will be disgusting to me, and I will reject it.

In fact, you will be punished for not respecting what I say is holy,
