I am Brian. It's great to be here with you as we gather like we do every day here around the global campfire.

One more time, every day. This is a place where we come to take the next step forward.

I am grateful, as always, and humbled, as always, how we have this place to be.

I'm glad that we can join together in hearts and minds opening ourselves to what the scriptures

bring to us each day.

So we just invite the Holy Spirit to allow the scriptures to hit us.

It is however they need to and bring to us whatever we need for the day.

We're in the book of Leviticus right now.

The riveting part of the Bible, right?

The fascinating indeed part of the Bible, but the riveting reading of the law.

But really, one thing builds upon another, and without this kind of context, we don't

really have the context for the rest of the story, even in the New Testament, without this

kind of backdrop, because it's the backdrop of Jesus ministry as well.

And so we're receiving the law in Leviticus, and it is absolutely intertwined with everything about

the people, deeply affecting their spirituality. When we get into the first century of Jesus' time,

it's like the plot has been lost,

and quite a bit of control through ritual has been found,

and Jesus has plenty to say about that,

because he is reuniting the spirituality.

Like Jesus is continually forcing us as the readers and the people that he's speaking to as the hearers and the experiencers is leading them back to their
