It's wonderful to be here with you today

as we greet a brand new shiny sparkly week out in front of us.

I have got to catch the sunrise today that doesn't happen a lot I got

my normal flow of things but I like to catch it and it's a brand new shiny sparkly day and it's a brand new

shiny sparkly week Let's do this right and let's orient ourselves to God through the scriptures as we're doing what we know is right this week.

We're in the book of Joshua.

We're hearing of how the promised land came to be the promised land.

Today, Joshua, chapter 9, verse 3 through 10, verse 43.

However, when the people of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done to Jericho and I, they resorted to a ruse.

They went as a delegation whose donkeys were loaded with worn-out sacks and old wine skins, cracked and mended.

They put worn and patched sandals on their feet and wore old clothes.

All the bread of their food supply was dry and moldy.

Then they went to Joshua in the camp at Gilgau and said to him,

and the Israelites,

we have come from a distant country,

make a treaty with us. The Israelites said to the

hivites, but perhaps you live near us, so how can we make a treaty with you? We are your servants.

They said to Joshua, but Joshua asked,

who are you and where do you come from?
