Hello, my friends, and welcome back to Unshaken. I'm Jared Halverson, and we've got wonderful material to talk about this week.

As every week. Section 23, 456 is our material for the week.

Last week we did 2021 and 22, and those were institutional revelations. This week is individual revelations.

We seem to be kind of going back and forth, big picture, small picture, zoom out, zoom in.

And I love the fact that the Lord is balancing both.

He cares about the world and he cares about you.

He cares about the church as an organization and he cares about each individual member.

And we're going to meet all kinds of members today. In fact, it's four

sections of the doctrine covenants, but it's actually 10 revelations, which is pretty amazing.

And what amazes me more than anything is how short most of them seem to be. The most famous

one for this week is section 25, where Emma Smith gets a whole revelation just for her.

26 is a super short one,

two verses, but it's dedicated to one individual, John Whitmer. What's interesting about 23 and 24,

though, yes, each one is its own section, but it's a section where a bunch of little revelations have been compiled together.

Maybe we're trying to save on postage, okay? And we'll put them all in the same envelope and call

it a section. But section 23, for example, is actually five revelations to five different

individuals. Oliver Cowdery gets two verses. Hiram Smith gets one. Samuel Smith gets one, Joseph Smith Sr. gets one.

So here's Joseph's older brother, younger brother, dad, and then friend of the family, Joseph

Knight Sr., gets two verses there. So very, very small revelations aimed at a particular

target audience of one. Then, Section 24, those are actually three revelations,

all compiled together. There's a fairly longer one for Oliver Cowdery. There's one more focused

for, well, it starts with one for Joseph Smith, then one for Oliver Cowdery, and then one for

...
